Hello, and Welcome to my art.
I'm the self-taught bead artist behind Silk Canyon Beadwork. When I first began, I made some truly unattractive things - but I was completely captivated by the process, so I kept going. I kept learning, experimenting, pulling things apart, and beginning again. Somewhere along the way, beadwork became a language of its own for me and a way to express my deep love of colour.
When I sit down to create, I rarely know what I'm going to make. I simply begin weaving and allow the colours and beads to lead me. Slowly, the piece reveals itself, taking on a direction and form of its own.
What brings me the greatest joy is watching a piece find its person. That is when it truly comes to life - taking on a beauty, presence, and unique magic through the person wearing it.
